Whitby defensive tackle joins OUA team’s 2015 class.
Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks have landed their fourth #CFC100 recruit.
Trevaughan James is the newest member of the Golden Hawks football program.Β The 6β2, 295 pound defensive tackle from Whitby, Ontario will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.
Ultimately, the Golden Hawks provided the #CFC100 the best chance to excel on and off the field.
βThe reason why I chose Wilfrid Laurier is because it seemed like it was the best fit for me both academically and on the field,β elaborated James of his decision.Β βOn the field, they are known for their defensive and they have an amazing track record for sending defensive players to the pros.β
βI also felt like I will be given the chance to develop my skills with this coaching staff and would earn the opportunity to play and compete. Along with this, I got a great feel from the coaching staff and players and they all made me feel at home on my visit. On the academic side it made perfect sense. They had the program I wanted to take which will help me reach my goal of attending medical school in the future.β
Recently, James completed his high school career south of the border for New Yorkβs Trinity-Pawling Pride.Β Other teams he has previously suited up for include Donald Wilson Gators of the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (LOSSAA) and Ajax-Pickering Dolphins of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).
With his commitment, the defensive tackle becomes the fourth #CFC100 recruit to join the Golden Hawks.Β Running back Osayi Iginuan, offensive lineman Drew Mairleitner and receiver Kurleigh Gittens are the others.
