Herdman Brothers & Pauls Repeat Selections All-Academic Team

PORTLAND, Ore. – A perfect 3.90 grade point average for Simon Fraser University linebacker Jordan Herdman highlights the list of Clan selections to the 2016 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Football All-Academic Team.

Herdman earned his third selection to the All-Academic Team with a 3.90 GPA as a biomedical physiology major. Herdman is one of NCAA Division II’s best defensive players. He set the GNAC career records for total tackles and assisted tackles earlier this season and was an NCAA All-American as a junior.

Jordan Herdman and his brother, Justin, who carries a 3.38 GPA in biomedical physiology, were selected to the team three consecutive years. In all, 23 of the 45 selected to the team were repeat selections.

Simon Fraser’s Andrew Pauls, a tight end, has a 3.72 GPA as a biomedical physiology major and was selected to the team for the second straight year.

Also named to the team were sophomore linebacker Gabe Lopes, who has a 3.59 GPA in engineering science and defensive back Ben Minaker, a biomedical physiology major with a 3.62 GPA.

To qualify for selection to the GNAC Football All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be of sophomore standing or better, have a minimum 3.38 cumulative GPA and must have competed for their nominating institution for at least one season.

The Clan’s final home game against Western Oregon will be played Nov. 12 at Swangard Stadium. Kick-off is 1 PM.
