John Potter Division (AAA)

Sisler Spartans (28), Dakota Lancers (24)

The Sisler Spartans spoiled Dakota’s first ever home game at Murray Field by winning 28-24 over the Lancers. With the win the Spartans are in sole possession of 2nd place. The Lancers are tied with three other teams with three wins.

Garden City Gophers (21), Oak Park Raiders (14)

The Garden City Gophers earned their second victory of the season beating the Oak Park Raiders 21-14. Oak Park falls to 0-4, while the Gophers improve to 2-3.

Vincent Massey Trojans(19), Grant Park Pirates(5)

In CFC’s game of the week, the Vincent Massey Trojans won a tight game against the Grant Park Pirates 19-5. After winning their game against Grant Park, the Trojans are tied for third spot with Grant Park, Sturgeon and Dakota with three wins.

Players of the Week in the John Potter Division

Offensive- Dakota Lancers’ Aidan Campbell hauled in 5 receptions for 108 yard and one touchdown in a loss to the Sisler Spartans.

Defensive- N Carabatsakis from the St. Paul’s Crusaders recorded 7 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception in a win against the Steinbach Sabres.

Special- Sisler Spartans’ Tyler Koniuck had 7 punts for 160 yards, 1 fake punt for and 11 yard gain and critical first down and Tyler returned a kickoff 93 yards with seconds left to lead Sisler over Dakota 28-24.

This week in the Potter Division…

On Thursday, the Garden City Gophers have a game with Vincent Massey at IGF Field at 5:15 pm, St. Paul’s hosts the Sturgeon Heights Huskies at 6:45 pm and the Sisler Spartans meet the Oak Park Raiders at 7:30 pm at IGF Field.

Friday’s action has the Grant Park Pirates taking on the Steinbach Sabres at IGF Field at 7:30 pm.

 

Kas Vidruk Division (AA)

Neelin Spartans (6), St. Paul’s Crusaders(22)

The St. Paul’s Crusaders hand the Neelin Spartans their second loss of the season beating them 22-6. The Crusaders are in third with a record of 4-1. Neelin now sits at 3-2, tied for fourth with the Vincent Massey Vikings.

Elmwood Giants (9), Portage Collegiate Trojans (13)

The Portage Collegiate Trojans win their second game of the season 13-9 over the Elmwood Giants. The Trojans are tied for 6th with the River East Kodiaks at 2-3. Elmwood is 0-5.

River East Kodiaks (10), Dryden Eagles (29)

The Dryden Eagles remain in a tie for the lead in the Kas Vidruk Division with the Kelvin Clippers at 5-0 after topping the Kodiaks 29-10. River East drops to 2-3 and tied for 6th with the Vikings from Brandon.

Crocus Plains Plainsmen (0), Kelvin Clippers (30)

The Kelvin Clippers earn a shutout victory 30-0 over the Crocus Plain Plainsmen. Since dropping down a division, the Clippers are tied for the lead in the Vidruk Division at 5-0 with the Dryden Eagles. Crocus Plains falls to 1-4.

Players of the Week in the Kas Vidruk Division

Offensive – Dryden Eagles’ Jarret Hicks completed 6 of 14 passes for 98 yards. Jarret also carried the football fo4 84 yards and 2 touchdowns on 9 carries in a win over the River East Kodiaks.

Defensive- Trey Garlinski from the Kelvin Clippers earned 8.5 tackles and 3 pass deflections in a win over the Crocus Plains Plainsmen.

Special- Elwmood Giants’ Riley Tougas punted the football 3 times for 106 yards. Riley added 2 punt returns for 35 yards, 1 kickoff return for 21 yards and an onside kick recovery in a loss to the Portage Trojans.

Coming up this week in the Vidruk Division…

On Thursday the Elmwood Giants take on the St. Paul’s Crusaders at 4:30 pm at St. Paul’s.

Friday has four games in the Vidruk Division. The River East Kodiaks will battle the Spartans in Neelin at 1:30 pm, the Dryden Eagles host the Kelvin Clippers in a showdown at 3:00 pm, Crocus Plains has a meeting with the Vincent Massey Vikings in Brandon at 3:30 pm and the Portage Collegiate Trojans will battle the Miles Mac Buckeyes at 5:15 pm at IGF Field.

 

Andy Currie Division (A)

Maples Marauders (0), Beaver Brae Broncos (30)

The Beaver Brae Broncos cleaned up the Marauders 30-0 to improve their record to 5-0. The Broncos are tied for first with Daniel Mac at 5-0. The Marauders are 0-5.

St. John’s Tigers (21), Daniel MacIntyre Maroons (26)

The St. John’s Tigers lost a battle to the Daniel MacIntyre Maroons 26-21. Tigers’ CFC 100 lineman Rain Slater had a great game against the Maroons and got his first safety in the loss. Daniel Mac is undefeated at 5-0. St. John’s drops to 3-2.

St. Norbert Celtics (35), Churchill Bulldogs (0)

The St. Norbert Celtics won their second game of the season while shutting out the Churchill Bulldogs 35-0. The Bulldogs are winless at 0-5. St. Norbert improves to 2-3.

Fort Frances Muskies (14), Kildonan East Reivers (64)

The Kildonan East Reivers scored 64 points en-route to a big win over the Fort Frances Muskies 64-14. The Muskies fall to 2-3. Kildonan East is now tied with St. John’s for 4th at 3-2.

West Kildonan Wolverines (16), Tec Voc Hornets (10)

The West Kildonan Wolverines are now in third place after winning their game against the Tec Voc Hornets 16-10. With the win the Wolverines are 4-1. Tec Voc is now 1-4.

Players of the Week in the Andy Currie Division

Offensive – Deion Nelson of the Kildonan East Reivers caught 7 passes for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns in Kildonan East’s win over the Fort Frances Muskies.

Defensive- Daniel MacIntyre Maroons’ Nathaniel King-Wilson registered 6 tackles, 2 interceptions and 1 for a touchdown while leading Daniel Mac to a 26-21 win over the St. John’s Tigers.

Special- Alex Bater from the Kildonan East Reivers had 5 punts for 213 yards (42.6 yard average) in the Reivers’ win over the Fort Frances Muskies.

On tap this week in the Currie Division….

On Thursday the Daniel MacIntyre Maroons meet the West Kildonan Wolverines at 3:00 pm at IGF Field, the Kildonan East Reivers will entertain the St. John’s Tigers at 4:30 pm and the Churchill Bulldogs and Maples Marauders battle for their first wins of the season at 4:30 pm.

Friday will have the Beaver Brae Broncos in Winnipeg to take on the Tec Voc Hornets at 3:00 pm at IGF Field and the Fort Frances Muskies will battle the St. Norbert Celtics at 3:30 pm on the Bisons’ East Field.
