Lanaudière Triade now galloping with uOttawa Gee-Gees

Gee-Gees add out-of-province commit to 2017 class.

Nestled in the cityscape of downtown Ottawa, Younes Marzouki, a defensive back from Cégep régional de Lanaudière à L’Assomption, found a new place to call home after signing with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees.

Marzouki calls Repentigny, Québec home, but he was born in Casablanca, Morocco. He will now be moving to the nation’s capital after drawn in by the University of Ottawa’s atmosphere. “At my first visit, I liked the campus and especially the social sciences department. As I will be in psychology, I will have my classes there,” he said.

Throughout his recruiting process, Marzouki got to know Nathan Taylor, the Gee-Gees special teams and recruiting coordinator, and Jean-Vincent Posy-Audette, the defensive coordinator. “They are great individuals that I am looking forward to learn from and play for,” Marzouki said.

He added that, “The coaching staff at uOttawa is really good and has a great mix of experienced and young coaches.”

Prior to his time with his Cégep team, Les Triades de Lanaudière (RSEQ Division 2), the 5’8, 178lbs football player spent four years with his high school team, les Sphinx du Collège de L’Assomption (RSEQ). In 2011, he won a Bol D’or with the Sphinx.
