Gee-Gees add out-of-province commit to 2017 class.
Nestled in the cityscape of downtown Ottawa, Younes Marzouki, a defensive back from CΓ©gep rΓ©gional de LanaudiΓ¨re Γ L’Assomption, found a new place to call home after signing with the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees.
Marzouki calls Repentigny, QuΓ©bec home, but he was born in Casablanca, Morocco. He will now be moving to the nationβs capital after drawn in by the University of Ottawaβs atmosphere. βAt my first visit, I liked the campus and especially the social sciences department. As I will be in psychology, I will have my classes there,β he said.
Throughout his recruiting process, Marzouki got to know Nathan Taylor, the Gee-Gees special teams and recruiting coordinator, and Jean-Vincent Posy-Audette, the defensive coordinator. βThey are great individuals that I am looking forward to learn from and play for,β Marzouki said.
He added that, βThe coaching staff at uOttawa is really good and has a great mix of experienced and young coaches.β
Prior to his time with his CΓ©gep team, Les Triades de LanaudiΓ¨re (RSEQ Division 2), the 5β8, 178lbs football player spent four years with his high school team, les Sphinx du CollΓ¨ge de L’Assomption (RSEQ). In 2011, he won a Bol Dβor with the Sphinx.
