Kishawn has only played one season of the sport with the Dartmouth Destroyers of the Nova Scotia Minor Football Association (NSMFA). Β During his lone season, the Destroyers went undeated with an 11-0 record.

The standout will be making the move to high school this fall and continue his career with the Dartmouth High Spartants of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL).

Kishawn knows the importance of a good foundation to success and he finds that in the people that motivates him daily.

β€œIn my life without question it has to be my family,” says Kishawn. Β “My brothers Kartel, Dauntai, my sister Kierra, my father Keith and my mother Tina.”

He also attributes his start on the gridiron to his good friend.

β€œMy football background started with Lourenz Bowers in Grade 5 and we would play tackle football at recess and lunch hours,” Kishawn explains. β€œFinally he convinced me to join the Dartmouth Destroyers.”

Although Kishawns’ career has been short, he still was able to have a great season.

β€œThe highlight of my season would have to be my pick 6. I ran it to the house 70 yards,” he adds.

There hasn’t been much recruitment talk with Kishawn to this point as his hasn’t broken into the NSSAFFL yet.

β€œIt is my plan to play football at university now that I have the taste of football,” says Kishawn of his future gridiron goals.

When Kishawn was given the opportunity to represent Nova Scotia he had a special request for the number on his jersey for an important reason.

β€œMy football number is 25, which is the birth date of my late nephew Taey’zia Pye who passed away when he was 21 months old from a rare immune disease,” Kishawn explains. Β “Rest in Peace!”

His career is short thus far but the sport has just peaked the Kishawn’s interest.

β€œI am working on getting some film now, but the best is yet to come,” adds Kishawn.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
