Week 2 Roundup

 Fighting Catholic’s: 2-0 (4-0)

Remaining undefeated, the Fighting Catholic’s are led by the leagues best defense. Touting some of the best defensive HS players in the nation (Tomlinson ’21, Lytle ’21, Pereira ’21), Tall-Rangy corner Robert Scott ’21, athletic DB Evan Hirst ‘22 and rising star safety Dillano Glaud ’24 make it extremely difficult to move the ball on them.

Offensively, QB Lucas Van Norman continues to get it done. Targets Theo Karaholios ’21(holds multiple offers), Owen Johnson ’21 and Jordan Romero ’21 have all been making plays of offence. 2 Way player Skyler Griffith has also impressed on both sides of the ball. Skyler is someone to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

 XL Trojans: 2-0 (4-0)

Another undefeated team. XL Trojans, Winners of the “game of the week” against “Dak Boom”, are a scoring machine.  One of the best QB’s in the country, Jordan Hanslip ’21 continues to be an absolute force. The Trojans offensive talent also includes prospects Negus Lewin ’21(leading league in scoring), Payton Lake ’21, Trey White ’21 and Everette Reid ’22. This gives Hanslip one of the best receiving cores in the country. On Defense, LB Jason Rushatsi ’21 continues to live up to the hype. Anyone watching can see why he is one of the best players in Canada.

Not SRSS: 2-0 (4-0)

Not SRSS continues to find ways to win games and remain undefeated. It starts at QB with Manitoba commit Sawyer Thiessen ’21 at the helm. Athletic WR and CFC100 Mula Yitna ’21 has been making plays all over the field for Thiessen. Falk and Yitna have also been a force on Defense for Not SRSS matching up with the opponents top receivers.

 Springfield: 2-0 (3-1)

Led by QB Tommy Walls ’21, Springfield is opening a lot of eyes in the first 2 weeks of league play. Walls, who is 2nd in league in TD passes continues to go out and win games. Wes Toledo ’21, Gage Richey ’21 and Wes Kwan ’21 have all impressed in there ability to catch the ball in traffic and make plays. On Defense, Caleb Kratz ’21 is 2nd in the league for INT while Gage Richey ’21 is right behind him. Richey has shown he is a baller, making plays on both sides of the ball.

Jake Deneka

 Pirates1-1 (2-2)

The Pirates came away with an OT win over the Raiders and a tough loss against undefeated Fighting Catholic’s. DB and Manitoba Commit Jake Nitychoruk ’21 is everywhere! Jake who took home D-POW award again this week had another 3 interceptions and was making plays all over the field. DB Jake Deneka ’23 has impressed on both side of the ball for the Pirates scoring both TD’s and is a prospect who’s stock has started to rise since the summer.

Dak Boom1-1 (2-2)

Dak Boom came up short in the game of the week to the undefeated XL Trojans. The game did not disappoint as it came down to the last play of the game.
