McMaster’s winning tradition lures Peterborough recruit

Peterborough defensive lineman signs with OUA team.

Joe Bencze wants to go to a contender with an established winning track record.

Consequently, the 6’5, 250 pound defensive lineman from Peterborough, Ontario committed to the McMaster Marauders.  Bencze will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

“I decided to commit to McMaster because of the recent success the team has had,” expressed the lineman of his decision.  “The football program has a winning tradition that I want to be a part of over the next few years.”

“They have a great coaching staff and players that will help me become the best player possible. The campus and facilities are one of the best I have ever seen. Overall, I just went with the university that I felt most comfortable with during my visits and McMaster was definitely the one.”

Bencze completed his high school career with Holy Cross Hurricanes of the Central Ontario Secondary School Athletics (COSSA). Additionally, the lineman has suited up for the Peterborough Wolverines of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).  In 2014, he registered 21 tackles, seven tackles for a loss and recorded four quarterback sacks.
