Moncton to host 2013 Football Canada Cup

“The city of Moncton has always been great to the football community. We are fortunate to have dedicated football fans that support our events and allows for our young athletes to play in an exciting game day atmosphere. In the past, High School level football games at the Rocky Stone venue in Moncton has gathered fans as large as 4,000. We expect a great turnout for the Canada Cup Tournament,” said Football New Brunswick executive director Olivier Eddie.

Eddie continued by saying “the Moncton Football Association hosting committee has already been working very hard to make this tournament a success. We know that the teams will be well hosted and that the tournament will foster a very positive experience for all of those who attend. We can’t wait to see all the teams here in Moncton, New Brunswick.”

Tournament Notes:

The expectation is that 8 teams will participate in the 2013 tournament.  The formula is expected to be the same as 2012 or inserting British Columbia (if they can sort out their issues) and only having one Ontario participant.

The Football Canada Cup is a tournament run by the participating provinces.  The participating provinces are the only ones with voting rights.  Their is no National Team, National committee, or Tournament committee with voting rights.
