Mounties all-round fit for #CFC100 recruit

Delta quarterback joins AUS team’s 2015 class.

A West Coast #CFC100 recruit is moving to New Brunswick for the shot to play for a CIS team.

Lucas Kirk is the newest Mount Allison Mountie.Ā  The 6ā€™0, 175 pound pivot from Delta, British Columbia will join the AUS Conference Champions for the 2015 season.

ā€œI decided to commit to Mount Allison because of many different factors,ā€ explained Kirk of his decision. First off, the football program at Mount Allison is very strong and continuing to grow.ā€

ā€œSecondly, I had the opportunity to travel out east to New Brunswick and visit Mount Allison. The coaching staff, players and people at Mount Allison are all very welcoming and friendly. I also was able to workout and train with the team during my visit, which I really enjoyed. Between the football program and the opportunity to be able to study at the one of the top undergraduate schools in Canada, Mount Allison seemed like the best fit for me, not only to continue my football career, but also my education.ā€

This past fall, Kirk led the South Delta Sun Devils for the British Columbia High School Football Association (BSHFA) to the Provincial ā€˜AAAā€™ Championship. During the 2014 season, he racked up 2647 passing yards and 37 toouchdown passes.

In January, Kirk was ranked in the #CFC100 for the first time this past year.
