

The Clanās Bo Palmer (North Vancouver, BC) had a massive day for SFU, scoring four touchdowns and registering 146-yards rushing.
“Going into this game, we wanted to come out with intensity,” said Palmer.Ā Ā “All week in practice our offensive line has meshed really well with our running backs and that showed in this game.”
Lemar Durant (Coquitlam, BC) followed with two touchdowns and 116-yards receiving.
Clan quarterback Trey Wheeler (Seattle, WA) turned into another impressive performance, throwing for 312-yards and two touchdowns.
“We knew what they wanted to do on defence and we did our best to exploit that,” said Wheeler.Ā Ā “I feel like we didn’t play our best game tonight but we still put up 41-points.Ā Ā That’s a testament to the hard work this group puts in and our coaching staff.”
The SFU offence ended their first possession with Wheeler finding Mathis Baumbach (Dusseldorf, Germany) in the end zone to complete an eight play, 87-yard drive to make it 7-0 early in the first.
The Clan maintained their momentum as Palmer drove through the Red Storm defence into the end zone on a two-yard run to give the Clan 13-0 lead.
Palmerās touchdown was set up by a seven play, 59-yard drive, highlighted by a 52-yard pass from Wheeler to Bobby Pospischil (Coquitlam, BC).
Dixie stated answered back six minutes later as AJ Johnson complete a four play, 27-yard possession with a nine-yard run bringing the score to 13-7 as the first quarter came to a close.
The second quarter began with a touchdown from Palmer for the Clan and ended with a Dixie State touchdown from Johnson, ending the first half with the Clan leading 20-14.
The Clan pulled away in the third quarter with two touchdowns.
Durant caught a 23-yard pass from Wheeler on the Clanās first drive of the half to make it 27-14, followed by 54-yard run by Palmer that expanded the Clanās lead to 34-14.
The fourth quarter started with the two squads exchanging touchdowns. The Red Stormās Beau Hoskins caught a three-yard pass shortly followed by the Clanās Palmer running home his fourth touchdown of the game to put the score at 41-21.
The Red Storm offence made a final push completing a five play, 87-yard drive with a 43-yard pass to Randon Willard but that was as close as they could get as the Clan prevailed by a score of 41-28.
The win improves the Clanās record to 2-3 and 1-3 in GNAC play.
The Clan will be at home again next weekend to host the GNACās newest team, Azusa Pacific at 2:00 p.m. on Terry Fox field.Ā Ā Student admission is free.
