CFC100 2017Ā Kenan Clarke

Clarke, a senior at Lake Forest Academy, and originally from Pickering, Ontario, has made it official. He will be joining the Big Red for the 2017 season.

“I’m excited. It’s been quite a journey leading up to this moment but it’s been one I wouldn’t change for the world. I’ve made a lot of friends and have had great experiences so it has been a blessing.” he said when we asked him how he felt leading up to this day.

When the 5’11, 165 lbs athlete verbally committed to Cornell back in October, the university had this to say…..

Playing football since he was nine years old, Kenan has been very passionate about football ever since. He says in a personal statementĀ that playing football down south has been a dream and goal of his. There is much thought and deliberation when deciding upon the school that you eventually would like to call home for another 4 years. Kenan explains,”My deciding factory was was truly how important I was to the team. How much of a difference I could make and how much potential I had as an athlete and more importantly as a student”.

Like any transition to the next level, one must have a clearer picture of what to expect of the program and themselves when they actually suit up with their new team. The Freshman year is one of the toughest for most students, never mind student-athletes. However, Kenan is confident that this transition will be smooth.

“My expectations for next are just go hard. Push myself everyday like I have been and good things will come.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
