The three-year starter has enjoyed a fantastic BCHSFB career at South Delta earning honours such as: First Team All-Canadian, Conference & Provincial All-Star status in 2015 & 2016, Team MVP in 2015 & 2016, and was a AAA Provincial Champion in 2014 with the Sun Devils.
He also owns the provincial records for most career tackles (263), touchdowns in a game (seven), and tackles in a game (29). βI am super excited about the future. I would like to thank my parents, siblings, and coaches for everything they have done for me in my life. I am incredibly grateful I have been given a chance to play at the division 1 level and I canβt wait to become a Black Bear,β said McDonald.
βGrant has been one of the best players that have played on South Delta in the last 15 years,β said South Delta Head Coach Ray Moon, βhe played every down with an edge that put him in a class all alone. There were a number of schools bidding for his services on both sides of the border, but the University of Maine was the place that checked all the boxes he was looking for. They are getting a great coachable player that isnβt afraid to do the work that is required to be successful at the next levelβ.
