NCAA Signing day: Minnesota stocks up on Manitoba recruits

 

Minnesota Crookston loaded up on athletes from Manitoba yesturday for signing day.

Brandon O’Connor/RB/6-3 176/Winnipeg, Manitoba/Grant Park H.S.

O’Connor helped lead the Pirates to a 5-2 mark on the season…He notched 830 yards on 107 carries with nine touchdowns on the season…O’Connor averaged 7.8 yards per carry…Also caught five passes for 55 yards on the year…Defensively, O’Connor made 15 tackles with four sacks and had two forced fumbles…As a junior, rushed 22 times for 132 yards and a touchdown…Named Team MVP in 2016…Named Player of the Week and an Elite Player of the Year nominee. – Source: Minnesota Crookston

Josh Diamond/DL/6-2 230/Winnipeg, Manitoba/Vincent Massey Collegiate

Had nine tackles and five interceptions on the season for Dakota Collegiate…Also had 3.5 special teams tackles and one blocked kick during his senior season…Played defensive back for the Dakota Lancers…A WHSFL 2016 Conference All Star in 2016…Named to As a junior, notched 8.5 defensive tackles and one special teams tackle…Was an Athlete of the Year nominee each season from 2012-15…Earned Gold and Silver Cup Awards at Athletic Banquet for 2015-16…Named to the All-Lancer Team in 2016…A WHSFL Honor Roll achiever in 2016…Earned the Lancer Award in 2016. – Source: Minnesota Crookston
