CEGEP offensive lineman becomes next recruit for RSEQ team’s 2014 class.

Sometimes, having faith in a recruit is all a CIS team needs to solidify a commitment.

Case and point, the Sherbrooke Vert et Or.Β  Recently, Antoine Jalbert committed to the team for the 2014 season.

Moreover, the 6’6, 270 pound offensive lineman from Mascouche, Quebec liked the direction and philosophy of the football program and is looking forward to contributing instantaneously to the RSEQ team.

β€œFirst, I am very happy and very proud to be part of the Vert et Or family” expressed Jalbert.Β  β€œI am convinced it was the right thing to do for me and I still believe so.”

β€œThe coaches believed in me and it definitely weighed on the scale. I share the same values as the football program and I recognize in their vision. I cannot wait to settle down on campus and start this new adventure.”

Previous to signing with the Vert et Or, the Quebec offensive lineman competed for CEGEP Division 2 team, Lionel Groulx Nordiques.Β  Jalbert began his gridiron career playing high school football for College Saint Sacrement in Terrbonne, Quebec.Β  He has played all positions on the offensive line (centre, guard and tackle).

The CEGEP standout’s mentor and main influence in the game is Gabriel Barbe, who is currently an offensive lineman for NCAA’s FBS Division team, University of Buffalo Bulls.

β€œHe’s from the same high school as me and I can talk to him often and sometimes, we train together,” added Jalbert.
