Newest Mountie King (VIDEO)

Saint John lineman signs with AUS Conference Champions.

Sawyer King will be embarking on the next phase of his gridiron career and academic life in his home province.

The 6’0, 275 pound offensive lineman from Saint John, New Brunswick has committed to the Mount Allison Mounties for the 2014 AUS season.

“I committed for Mount Allison because it was a perfect fit for me,” explained King of his decision.  “The Mounties play with pride, something I have done my whole football career and I have worked with the coaches in the Under-181 New Brunswick football program at the Football Canada Cup.”

“The coaches at Mount Allison are committed to making their players better players and better men. At Mount Allison, I can advance to a whole new level of football with a program that has a bright future in the CIS.  There is no better school where I can advance at than Mount Allison.”

Sawyer King commitment

King joins the Mounties after playing for the Malachy Saints of the New Brunswick High School Football League (NBHSFL). This past season, he was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year in the NBHSFL’s 10-Man Division and also was selected to the league’s 10 Man All-Star team at the offensive line position.
