It was a monumental day for CFC100 Class of 2017 DB Tyrell Ford who announced he’s been invited to the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets mini-camps.
The Niagara Falls, ON native became a star alongside his twin brother CFC100 QB Tre Ford at A.N. Myer where he won three straight OFSAA provincial titles, and was named to the CFC100 Class of 2017 High School Rankings. The Ford brothers shocked the nation when they took their talents to Waterloo, who had lost 16 straight games prior to their signing.
Ford made an immediate impact on defence and as a returner helping the Warriors improve to 4-4 in his first year on campus, and in 2019 would help the Warriors win their first playoff game since 1999. The 5’10”, 190lbs prospect was named to the U Sports All-Canadian Team twice, and finished his career at Waterloo with six interceptions, 1640 return yards and three touchdowns.
The dream became realistic for Ford when he and his brother was invited to the University at Buffalo’s pro day, where he ran a 4.44 forty-yard dash and record a 36.5 inch vertical. Tre Ford also found an opportunity signing a mini-camp deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
Brothers and rivals? Stay tuned.
