Finally, Jonah Williams added a score on a punt return.

Jacob Morgan guided the Phoenix defence with eight solo tackles while Keyshawn Upshaw Tynes caught an interception.

ā€œI thought our guys did a great job of executing on a number of plays on offense,ā€ commented Phoenix Offensive Coordinator Jon Dyer.Ā  ā€œOur offensive line set the tone and gave time for our quarterbacks to find some open receivers.ā€

ā€œMoncton runs a tricky offense to defend but our guys played hard and continued to battle and got some critical stops along the way.Ā  Our hats are off to Moncton for playing a hard game until the end. Ā It was a great game to be a part of and we’re happy we walked away with the victory.ā€

After the victory, the Phoenixā€™ attention goes back to the NSSAFFL Division 1 stretch run. In the coming days, the team will be shoring up all three facets of their game with the hope of achieving their ultimate goal at the end of the season.

ā€œWe need to keep improving every week and make sure that we learn from and build on the mistakes we make along the way,ā€ expressed Dyer.Ā  ā€œOur goal is to be playing onĀ November 22nd.ā€
