OBIT: Football community mourns Alex Midea

MIDEA, Alex – It is with heavy hearts that we announce Alex Midea, born December 18th, 1993 passed away in the early morning of December 5, 2018 after a lengthy six year battle with leukemia.

Beloved son of Rocco and Angela Midea, loving brother of Rita, adored nephew of Frances and Danny, Joe and Irene, Dan and Cathy and loved by several cousins.

Dearest grandson of Antonietta and predeceased by his nonno Antonio, nonno Giovanni and nonna Restituta.

He will always be remembered fondly by his friends and football teammates.

He was an exceptional student and football player who won the first Tom Arnott York University football award for character and hard work. He began playing football with the Toronto Junior Argos and won a high school championship with Chaminade College.

He will always be remembered for his resilience, good nature, and love for his family.

We invite all who wish to pay their respects to the viewing at Bernardo Funeral Home, Dufferin Chapel, Toronto on Thursday, December 6th from 6-9 pm, on Friday, December 7th from 2-4, 6-9 pm, and funeral Mass on Saturday, December 8th at 10 am, St. Charles Borremeo Church, North York, with entombment to follow.
