Offers piling up

CFC Top 100 Boateng faces tough decision as numerous NCAA offers come his way.

A CFC Top 100 ranked player has experienced a busy, yet memorable couple of months on the gridiron recruiting circuit south of the border.

In a span of eight days this month, 6’0, 180 pound cornerback Matthew Boateng from Pickering, Ontario received numerous NCAA Division 1 offers – two of those coming within 24 hours of one another and another two on the same day.

The latest offers to come were from Kansas Jayhawks and the Bowling Green Falcons on June 28th (within 2o minutes apart).  These offers come on the heels of others received from University of Buffalo Bulls on June 22nd  as well as the  Nevada Wolfpack on June 21st.  On May 31st, the Ontario cornerback got his first offer from the Villanova Wildcats and his second one from Charleston Southern Buccaneers the very same day.

Boateng has been playing at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.  Previous to IMG, the Ontario defensive standout has suited up for his former high school Pickering Trojans of the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (LOSSAA), and both the Ajax-Pickering Dolphins and the Oshawa Hawkeyes of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

During his career, Boateng has received recognition for his play on the field.  At the 2011 Eastbay Youth All-American Bowl, he was selected as defensive Player of the Game for Team Canada in the squads 42-37 victory over Team USA.  In spring 2012, he was selected to the GTA Rising Stars team.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
