Ontario kicker commits to NCAA’s California Golden Bears (VIDEO)

It’s been an exciting week for Gabriel Siemieniec.

The 6’2, 190 pound kicker from Toronto, Ontario announced via social media outlets that he had committed to NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team, University of California Golden Bears:

He will join the Golden Bears for the 2016 season. On May 24th, Siemieniec announced on social media that he received a preferred walk-on spot with the team.

Among the teams Siemieniec has suited for during his gridiron career include Robert F Hall Wolves of the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) and Guelph Jr Gryphons of the Ontario Football Conference.

The kicker also represented Team Ontario at the two consecutive Football Canada Cup tournaments. Β Siemieniec was part of the Gold Medal winning Team Ontario squad in 2014 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and the Silver Medal squad at the 2015 event in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.

Moreover, he participated in the 2015 International Bowl as a member of Team Canada’s under-17 team.

Siemieniec has received multiple honours during his career includingΒ OFC All-Star selections, Grade 11 Honour Roll, Chris Sailer 2015 Vegas XXVI Class 2016 Field Goal Last Man Standing Champion, Finalist in Last Man Standing Competition in Illinois. Previously, he attended numerous Kohl’s Camps including Winter Showcase, Southern Showcase and National Scholarship. Β He was ranked 27th amongst Class 2016 kickers by Kohl’s. Β Additionally, he attended the Chris Sailer Kicking School.
