Ontario Prospect Challenge Profile: Powerful Spear

Joshua began playing with the Smithville Falcons of the Niagara Regional Minor Football Association (NRMFA).  Each of the three seasons he was there, the team won the Niagara Championship.

The linebacker moved on to both Blessed Trinity Thunder of the Niagara Region High School Athletic Association (NRHSAA) and the Niagara Spears of the  Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

Ferrusi has played with the same teammates since his minor years, which has made his football experience much more fun.

“I love going out to football camps and learning new skills and meeting players from all over Ontario,” added Ferrusi.

During the offseason, the Thunder standout plans to go to as many football camps as possible while working out at the YMCA and playing midget hockey.

Also, Ferrusi has goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge and beyond that he would like to achieve.

“I would love to make the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) to give me the opportunity to showcase my talents to CIS scouts and coaches,” said the linebacker.  “I would love to be on the CFC 100 list in my graduating year.”

“I think it would give me way more opportunities to play ball and be noticed by scouts who can’t come out to the Niagara area.”

Ferrusi loves to play the game because it keeps him in shape, it has allowed him to make great relationships with his teammates and it provides and avenue for stress release.
