Over 30+ offers from the NCAA, future CFC100 Luketa, makes his decision

Future CFC100, Jesse Luketa, has made an early decision about where he would like to play the next level of his football; Penn State as was announced on social media.

With Penn State being known as ‘Linebacker U’, we asked Jesse how he came to settle on his decision. He replied, “Penn State is a historical institution the fact that they presented me with the opportunity to continue the LBU for me was no brainer!”

When we reflect back on when Luketa received his first NCAA offer he had this to say at the time, “My reaction to receiving my first offer was indescribable; anyone close to me will understand why,” expressed Luketa.  “After overcoming a broken ankle last year, I vowed to return a much better dedicated athlete.” He went on to say. “My recruitment will stay open until the end of my junior season and verbally commit to a program I feel is the best fit for me academically and athletically.”

The 6’3, 210 pound linebacker from Ottawa is still just a sophomore. Currently, 3 star recruit plays at Mercyhurst Prep in Erie, PA. and has received over 30+ offers from the NCAA.

Another CFC100 top prospect also committed to Penn State on signing day this year, Jonathan Sutherland, and Luketa said that “Me and Johnny went from playing against each other growing up in the NCAFA, to now future teammates”.

Luketa played for the bantam Cumberland Panthers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL). After bantam, the Ottawa native competed for two seasons with the junior varsity Panthers under the instruction of coaches Ian Michel, Carlos Blizzard and Cheelor Lindor. Luketa also played for St. Patrick Fighting Irish of the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA).

With thousands of fans creating a white out, the excitement on game day can only be imagined. Luketa is prepared and hyped for that day, mentioning, “I cannot wait to play in front of 107,000 fans for a white out game.”

No doubt this is only the beginning for this young, talented athlete….and not the last you will hear of him.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
