Pitt makes it official; Sign CFC100 Jared Wayne

CFC100 Jared Wayne out of Clearwater Academy put an end to the party, and when the music stopped –  only the Pitt Panthers were left remaining. Wayne became a popular prospect in the spring garnering offers from some quality schools, but no doubt the Panthers stood out as the heavy hitters among South Florida, Bowling Green and Old Dominion.

NCAA EARLY SIGNING DAY TRACKER

The athletic specimen originally hails from Peterborough, and played for CFC10 Trinity College before heading to Florida this season. He’s actually the first Canadian prospect heading to Pitt since we started tracking the numbers back in 2010, and is the third ACC commit this cycle with Syracuse grabbing CFC60s Geof Cantin and Matthew Bergeron. The Big Ten leads the way as the most popular Power 5 conference, but every year the ACC inches a little bit closer, and 2018 could be their biggest to date for Canadian connections.

Pitt just finished their sixth season in the ACC under the guidance of Head Coach Pat Narduzzi, and can consider it a success earning a berth in the Sun Bowl against Stanford after seeing their nine year streak snapped in 2017. The Panthers also have an offer on the board for CFC100 Liam Dick, who may announce his commitment later today, and one for CFC100 John Metchie before he committed to Alabama.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
