QB commit brings size, skill to Marauders

McMaster welcomes another Hamilton commit

When a player both has size and talent, they have a world of opportunities waiting for them, and the McMaster Marauders are ready to give their most recent commit, Zackary Beno, a quarterback from St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School, a chance to claim those opportunities.

Beno adds size to the quarterback position, standing at 6’4, 220 lbs. He calls Hamilton his hometown, so it’s a little bit fitting that he will now play for the local, university team.

Beno has played with the St. Thomas More Knights (Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic Athletic Association), the Hamilton Ironmen (Ontario Varsity Football League) and the Hamilton Hurricanes (Ontario Football Conference). The quarterback was a member of the Team West junior varsity squad in the 2015 Ontario Prospect Challenge. In the same year, he also played with Team Ontario at the International Bowl.

In 2016, he started with Team West varsity at the OPC and took home the offensive MVP of the game title for his impressive game that included three quarterback sneaks.
