Quebec (RSEQ Juvenile 1) Preview: Two CFC TOP 50 teams square off in epic battle

In a key battle between two CFC TOP 50  squads, rivals College Notre Dame Cactus and Seminaire Saint-Francois Blizzard will square off on Saturday. The Cactus will face their stiffest challenge of the season when they visit the Blizzard.  Last time these two teams met was November 10th, 2012 in the RSEQ Juvenile Division 1 semi-finals when the Blizzard defeated the Cactus 23-9.

Coming into this battle, the Cactus are atop of the standings with a 5-0 record while the Blizzard are just two points back with a 4-1 mark on the season.  If the Cactus lose this game, both teams will share top spot.  Needless to say, both teams will come ready to battle with the stakes extremely high.

The player to watch for on the Cactus will be running back Francis Rocheleau, who in Week 5 turned in a monstrous performance as he rushed for 22o yards on 10 carries (average of 22 yards) and scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) in the team’s victory over Roger Comtois. As for the Blizzard, the key to their success will lie in their pivot, Benoit Side who had 14 completions in 23 attempts for 203 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in the team’s Week 5 win over Triolet.

Overall, this game has all the makings of being a dramatic, yet epic battle for top spot in the standings.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
