Tyler Santos started playing seven years ago with the atom Calgary Bulldogs as a linebacker.

In his bantam year, he was moved to the running back position, which he has continued to play for the past three years.

This past year, the running back did have the chance to play in the Bantam Bowl with the winning Team South.

Tyler also made this year’s Alberta under-16 team, and was awarded league MVP for his final year of bantam.

Highlights of last season for Tyler include making the Bantam Bowl and the under-16 team, as well as winning MVP.

In this upcoming season the running back will be playing for his high school team, the Henry Wise Wood Warriors in the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association (CSHSAA).

β€œTo improve for this year I was really just trying to get stronger and work on more speed,” says Tyler. β€œI have seen improvement which I am pleased by.”

Summer training for the running back consisted of a daily workout routine from his dad, and always wanting to improve.

The standout is just entering the tenth grade so his recruitment process is just beginning. Thus far, Tyler is open and has put out film to school to look at if they’re interested.

In the future he hopes to play university football in the States if possible, and wants to have a career in engineering if football does not work out.

Tyler always strives to do his best, works to improve, and he is able to lead his team while providing motivation.

β€œ[The] most influential person is my dad who played at the university level in the US,” comments the running back. β€œHe helps push me to achieve my goals and become a better football player and help me in my life in general.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
