RECAP (ONT – DURHAM): CFC#30 Saints capture LOSSA Title in stunning comeback win

The LOSSA Championship was billed as the game to watch last Saturday, spectators were treated to a fantastic back and forth game that saw CFC#30 Paul Dwyer erase a 17-0 deficit to win the game in overtime.

The game opened with the Titans taking the game to the Saints,  seemingly before anyone could blink the Titans were up 17-0 and the Saints were suddenly face to face with a three possession mountain to climb.

A deep punt to the middle of the field would prove to be the sparkplug for a previously helpless looking team. Tristan Parks to the punt all the way back right down the middle of the field, a successful two point conversion would make the game 17-8 for the Titans heading into halftime.

To open the third quarter, the Titans offense would find its rhythm and lead a scoring drive to make the score 24-8.

At this point the Saints offense came to life and quarterback Kyle Barronet took control of the game and began giving a vaunted saints passing attack some traction, hooking up with reciever Mitch Raper early and often on their way back to a tie game. The saints scored 16 straight points to force an overtime period, similar to what the Titans did to them in the previous meeting.

The Saints got the ball first and scored virtually immediately, the Saints defense now had a chance to win the game, and they did with a three and out.

The Saints were able to pull off a miraculous comeback to repeat as LOSSA champions, they will now represent LOSSA in the OFSSA Bowl Series.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
