Nathan Rourke completed 13 passes in 20 attempts, amassed 109 rushing yards and had three passing touchdowns as well as a rushing major as CFC#7 Holy Trinity Titans crushed CFC#39 St. Peter Knights 50-16 at the OFSAA Bowl Festival series earlier this afternoon.
This marks the first Titans OFSAA Bowl victory.
The Titans struck first on the scoreboard as Rourke ran into the end zone for a 46 yard touchdown. Close to five minutes later in the first quarter, the Titans extended their lead as Jason Uleryk Carvlho sprinted into the end zone for an 11 yard major.
At halftime, the Titans enjoyed a 28-1 lead after Rourke connected with both Ente Eguavoen (42 yards) and Tevin Doyley (four yards) for touchdown receptions.
In the third quarter, Carvlho tallied his second major of the game as he dashed downfield for 20 yards until he reached into the end zone.
The Knights got their first touchdown of the game as pivot Pascal Roy Lapensee found Quinton Soares for a 78 yard score.
However, the Knights replied with two consecutive touchdowns. Andre Pinto scored on a 100 yard punt return. Soon after, Rourke connected with Will Ellis for a three yard major. Graham Maskins added a 25 yard field goal.
Lapensee found Connor McClelland for a 10 yard touchdown reception to round out the scoring.
Calvlho scored two touchdowns and rushed for 91 yards on 10 carries for the Titans. Additionally, Matt Creelman racked up 101 yards on two receptions. Eguavoen scored a touchdown and had 60 yards on three receptions. On defence, Kwaku Antwi led the way with seven tackles.
As for the Knights, Soares tallied a major and amassed 93 yards on two receptions. He also guided the defence as he had six tackles.
