Kelowna offensive lineman joins CWUAA team’s 2016 class.

Andrew Becker will be commencing his CIS career in the Prairies.

Yesterday, the 6’3, 270 pound offensive lineman from Kelowna, British Columbia announced that he committed to the University of Regina Rams.  Becker will join the team for the 2016 CWUAA season.

With his commitment, Becker becomes the first #CFC100 Class 2016 recruit to choose the Rams.

The offensive lineman was sold on the Rams when he arrived for his official visit.  Moreover, the strength of the coaching staff as well as the fact the Rams could accommodate his academic pursuits made it a clear choice for Becker.

“I chose Regina because from the moment I stepped on to campus I felt the family atmosphere that Coach [Mike] Gibson has created,” elaborated the #CFC100 recruit. “On top of that, having two great offensive line coaches in Sheldon Neald and Steve Hanson, as well as Coach Gibson contributing to the offensive line impacted my decision greatly.”

“The experience and success that coach Gibson brings to the table makes me feel confident that I will develop into the best possible player I can be. I also felt very good about the Kinesiology program. I hope to be a difference maker and make an impact early for this team.”

This past fall, Becker was selected as an ‘AAA’ Pacific Conference All-Star as he suited up for the Rutland Voodoos of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA).  On the offensive line, he plays center.
