RSEQ Juvenile Division 1 Week 4: Notre-Dame remain undefeated

College Notre-Dame Cactus has kept their unbeaten record intact after this past weekend’s action in RSEQ Juvenile 1.

The Cactus cruised by the Triolet Harfangs 46-16 to stay in first place in the Juvenile 1 Division standings with a 4-0 record.

Cactus quarterback Thomas-Charles Paradis rushed in for three majors to lead the team to victory. Running back Joel Bouchard scored two touchdowns and amassed 269 rushing yards on 24 carries. Max-Antoine Allaire also tallied a major in the game.

On defense, Julien Le Guehennec registered six tackles (five solo, two assisted) while Guillaume Benard added 5.5 tackles (four solo, three assisted).Β  Mathieu Fraile-Tremblay and Philippe Lemieux-Cardinal each recorded a sack while Nicolas Prince caught an interception.

As for the Harfangs, receiver Tristan Peloquin scored a touchdown while Jean-Simon Gouin-Verette amassed 124 rushing yards on 14 carries to lead the offensive unit.

Eric Laboissiere racked up 8.5 tackles (six solo, five assisted) in a losing cause for the Harfangs.

With the loss, the Harfangs remain winless and at the bottom of the standings with a 0-4 mark this season.

SAINT JEAN EUDES 38, L’ACADEMIE LES ESTACADES 28:

In the National Game of the Week, Saint Jean Eudes got past Les Estacades 38-28 to move into a three way tie for second place in the division with the 3-1 record.

Gabriel Brault had a standout performance in this game.Β  The running back scored two touchdowns and had 134 rushing yards on 25 carries.Β  Moreover, receiver Charles-Eric Bernier Cloutier amassed 113 yards on four catches and added a major.Β  Jeffrey Lemelin also had a touchdown score for Saint Jean Eudes.

Quarterback David Pelletier had 16 completions in 28 attempts for 245 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in the victory.

As for Les Estacades, receiver Alexandre Gailloux had an exceptional performance in a losing cause as he scored two majors and amassed 201 yards on five catches (an average of 40.2 yards per catch).Β  Running back William Plante also ran into the end zone to tally a major for Les Estacades.

Pivot William Garceau had nine completions in 18 attempts for 229 passing yards and two touchdowns.

On defense, Uriel-Emmanu Kalenga registered 10 tackles (eight solo, four assisted) to lead Les Estacades while Tommy St.Pierre recorded a sack.

With the loss, Les Estacades fall into a three way tie for third place with a 2-2 record.

SEMINAIRE ST.FRANCOIS BLIZZARD 22, CURE ANTOINE LABELLE 18:

In a thrilling game, Seminaire St. Francois Blizzard edged Cure-Antoine LaBelle 22-18.

The win puts the Blizzard in a three way tie for second place in the Juvenile 1 standings with a 3-1 mark.

Patrick Serre led the Blizzard’s offense as he scored three touchdowns in the win – two passing and one rushing.Β  He also amassed 135 rushing yards and 70 receiving yards in the game.Β  Chrystopher Landry added a major while quarterback Benoit Cote had 223 passing yards to lead the unit.

Defensively, Louis-Philippe Labbe racked up 11.5 tackles (eight solo and six assisted).Β  Laurence Poirier Viens caught two interceptions while Thomas Shooner added one sack.Β  Louis-Pierre Ouellet recorded a sack.

Nicolas Dionne led the way for Cure-Antoine LaBelle with two touchdowns while accumulating 156 yards on two catches (average of 78 yards per catch).Β  Additionally, Ryth-Jean Giraud had 146 yards on 14 carries.

Kean Harilemana led Cure-Antoine’s defense by registering 12.5 tackles (nine solo, seven assisted) and also catching an interception. Shawn Theodore recorded three sacks while Axel Yanibada added two sacks and Luc-Ralph Lazarre chipped in with one.Β  Vincent Rousseau and the Wiltshires – Darren and Brian all caught interceptions in a losing cause.

With the loss, Cure Antoine Labelle is now 2-2 on the season and tied for third place in the standings.

COLLEGE JEAN-EUDES 45, ACADEMIE SAINT LOUIS ARENSAL 42:

In a tight game, College Jean-Eudes won the battle against Academie Saint Louis Arsenal 45-42.

Shawn Lafortune scored two touchdowns and had 172 receiving yards on 15 receptions for College Jean-Eudes.Β  Running back Dean Dalaroy amassed 188 rushing yards on 31 carries and scored two touchdowns.Β  Vincent Morrisette tallied a major.

Quarterback Zacharie Quiviger had 28 completions in 45 attempts for 366 passing yards, one passing touchdown and three interceptions.

On defense, Morrisette registered eight tackles (six solo, four assisted).Β  Mokuane Kaouane recorded a sack while Thomas Chausse caught an interception in the win.

As for the Arsenal, running back Philippe Lessard-Vezina scored three touchdowns and rushed for 254 yards on 26 carries to lead the offensive unit. Receiver David Lessard also added a major while Antoine Poire had 126 receiving yards on eight receptions.

Arsenal pivot Zachary Cloutier had 21 completions in 33 attempts for 324 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Marc-Antoine Blais led the Arsenal’s defense with 7.5 tackles (three solo, nine assisted), recorded a sack and caught an interception. Keven Porlier and Jeremie Verreault each recorded a sack while Thomas Gagnon and Christophe Bouchard had interceptions in the game.

With the win, College Jean-Eudes is tied for second place in the standings with a 3-1 record while the Arsenal drops to third place with an even 2-2 record.

ROGER COMTOIS 28, JACQUES ROUSSEAU 7:

Quarterback Jonathan Bradet scored three touchdowns and amassed 200 passing yards to lead Roger Comotois to their first win of the season, 28-7 over Jacques Rousseau.

With the win, Roger Comtois are in fourth place with a 1-3 record.

Jean Gabriel Baril also tallied a major for the winners while rushing 102 yards on 20 carries.Β  Receiver Charles Martel had 129 yards on 6 receptions (an average of 21.5 yards per reception).

Oliver Fortin led Roger Comtois’ defense with 9.5 tackles (six solo, seven assisted).

As for Jacques Rousseau, the defense was led by Marco Filipe and Jahson Lafondant-Denis.Β  Both registered 7.5 tackles and Lanfondant-Denis also recorded a sack and caught an interception.

Jacques Rousseau is still winless this season with a 0-4 record.
