Season to remember: “An amazing experience” sums up CFC100 Sidhu’s senior season

I would like to thank my coaches and the Hyack football program for the amazing experience over the last 4 years,” said CFC100 Sammy Sidhu.

What can we say about this kid. He’s a fierce competitor and lets his play do all the talking on the field. This 5’11, 190lbs athlete played both ways as a running back and linebacker for the CFC50 New Westminster Hyacks in British Columbia.

In 7 games played, Sammy went 616 yards on 55 carries, averaging 11. 2 yards per carry to go along with 9 rushing touchdowns, and 1 touchdown reception. Defensively, he led the Hyacks with 49 tackles and 1 fumble recovery. If you were to include the playoff stats (which are not available), this is a pretty impressive season and one that saw his effort help earn his team the 2017 AAA Provincial Championship in British Columbia.

“Most memorable part of my season was winning the championship and the last few plays of the championship game,” he mentioned.

From what we hear, Sidhu is being heavily sought after by numerous U Sport programs and has yet to determine where he’ll be calling home for the next 4-5 years. Being a CFC INsider member has been beneficial in this recruiting process.

“Being a CFC member has definitely benefited my recruiting process. Many coaches have contacted me because of CFC and it has been nice.”

While he’s mulling over that, you’ll find him on the wrestling mat as he also a nationally ranked wrestler at New West.

“This offseason, I’m going to wrestle along with weightlifting and I’m still deciding on where I’m going to go next year,” he commented.

We have no doubt that Sammy’s next four years are going to be just as fun to watch as the last four have been.
