South of the Border: CFC100 Brown twins joining elite company

  • Multiple Canadians are making rounds south of the border showing off their talent to NFL teams. Saskatchewan Roughriders WR Kian Schaffer-Baker worked out for the Jacksonville Jaguars this week, while Lions WR Jevon Cottoy worked out for the Denver Broncos too. BC Lions QB Nathan Rourke is also slated to work out for several teams.

  • Breakout Ohio CFC100 QB Kurtis Rourke unfortunately suffered a season-ending knee injury in this past week’s game. Up to this point in the season, the younger brother of Nathan had passed for 25 TDs with only four INTs. He had also rushed for four more over his 11 games so far this season, during which he’s totalled 3,256 yards passing and 249 yards rushing.

  • Illinois CFC100 RB Chase Brown was named a Doak Walker Award semi-finalist this week. This award is presented to the nation’s top running back. This season, he’s had 309 carries for 1,582 yards and 9 TDs. He’s also tagged on 26 catches for 197 yards and another three TDs. In addition, he also accepted his Senior Bowl invite, alongside his brother and teammate CFC100 DB Sydney Brown, and fellow Canadian CFC60 OL Matthew Bergeron out of Syracuse.

U SPORTS/NCAA CONSIDERATIONS

  • CFC100 WR Josh Palmer had the best week of his NFL career this past week, tallying eight catches for 106 yards and two TDs against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is Palmer’s third 99+ yard game of the season, as he now holds a stat line of 45 catches for 496 yards and three TDs in nine games.
