The X-Men’s Class of 2017 grows by one.
Sometimes there is an adjustment position when going to a new school, but it might not take Jack MacLean, a defensive lineman from Dr. John Hugh Gillis High School, too long to get used to the St. Francis Xavier X-Men.
The towering 6β6, 250lbs athlete is familiar with the site of St. FX, having grown up in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Playing for his hometown team has a few advantages. βItβs a local university with an excellent football program,β he said. βIβll be close to my family and they can attend the games.β
MacLean, who is interested in either pursuing Business or History, played with the Dr. John Hugh Gillis Royals (Nova Scotia Athletic Federation). The 2016 all-star probably wonβt have a difficult time adjusting to his new coaches. βI have an excellent relationship with the coaching staff at St.FX, especially with Coach Van Den Heuvel as he was the head coach of the Royals for my first two seasons,β he said.
