Q and A with Head Coach Luigi Costanzo

a) What were the hilights of the tryout process for you?

With many talented athletes who tried out for Team East I’ll start by saying it was an extremely difficult process to select our roster of 40. The main highlight for me, was no matter where the tryout was taking place the competition level was tremendous and watching these young men compete for a spot throughout this process was truly impressive.

b) What are the teams strengths that the coaches will attempt to hilight?

I believe we are a very balanced team with special players on both sides of the ball and that makes us a very difficult Team to prepare for but the difference in my opinion will be our Special Teams. Field position is paramount and we have an outstanding kicker and a couple of return players that can do some great things with the ball in their hands.

c) What are your coaching staffs strengths?

We have many years of Football experience on our staff and we have embraced our roles accordingly. I would say the greatest strength of our staff is our preparation, our coordinators are excellent and their knowledge of the game is outstanding. They have contributed many off hours to ensure the Team is ready for the tournament.

c) How do you feel about your first opponent?

Team BC has an excellent reputation and they have fielded some great Teams in the past winning the Tournament in 1999. Even though they are back after some time away I don’t see why that would change going into this year’s tournament. All we can do is prepare the best we can and then go compete on the field.

d) What will be your teams biggest challenge during the tournament?

There will be many challenges to overcome but staying healthy during the course of the tournament will be integral to our teams success.
