Top 5: Canadians to watch in the NCAA (Offensive Skill) dominated by Ontario bred players [week 1 video]

CFC is featuring the TOP 5 Canadians to watch in the NCAA in three different categories. Β 1) Defense 2) Offensive Line 3) Offensive Skill. Β The articles are exclusive toΒ CFC INSIDERΒ members.

OFFENSE SKILL

juwan

Honourable MentionΒ (bonus)Β Juwan Brescacin (Northern Illinois – Junior)Β Mississauga, Ontario

Appeared in all 14 games in 2013, starting 7 of them. Β Third on team with 33 receptions for 499 yards.

Honourable MentionΒ (bonus)Β Shaquille Murray-Lawrence (UNLV – Senior)Β Toronto

Great speed, ranked second on the team with 418 net yards on just 47 carries.

bridge,-brandon

5.Β Brandon Bridge (South Alabama – Senior) Mississauga, Ontario

Will compete for starting quarterback job in his senior season. Β Played two seasons at Alcorn State (2010-11) and as a freshmen recorded 2,687 yards of total offense while helping the Braves to a 5-6 mark … Completed 150-of-291 pass attempts for 2,086 yards and 19 touchdowns … Rushed for 601 yards and eight scores on 120 carries. Β Of course is more valuable to CFL teams as a receiver (because he would count in the ratio at any position but quarterback – yes, antiquated rule that needs to be changed) …so don’t get your hopes up that he is the next Canadian to playΒ QB in the CFL.

Attended AM practice to see QB Brandon Bridge and TE Wes Saxton, both on Watch List. USA opens 9/6 at Kent.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
