Vert et Or lures CEGEP recruit away from home

CEGEP defensive back signs with RSEQ team.

Nicolas Trepanier was given a great opportunity and simply could not turn it down.

Recently, the 5’11, 190 pound defensive back from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec committed to the Sherbrooke Vert et Or.  Trepanier will join the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.

Ultimately, academics and the strength of the football program was incentive enough for Trepanier to make the move away from his hometown.

“My choice of university was based on my studies and Sherbrooke was the only school that had my program opened in the winter,” explained Trepanier of his decision.  “Football was a game changer on whether or not I would leave Trois-Rivieres, and that’s when Sherbrooke came forward to propose a great opportunity for me to play CIS.”

The defensive back completed his CEGEP career with Division 2 team, Trois-Rivieres Diablos.  This past season, he registered 14 tackles (including one of for a loss), caught four interceptions and had three tipped passes.
