WELL DESERVED BISON VICTORY FOR HOMECOMING GAME (Video)

The Bisons managed a solid victory in the latest homecoming game after another loss against Alberta, however it was still anti-climactic; it was clear well near the end of the game who was going to win. Still, near the beginning of the game Saskatchewan was going strong, with a 0:12 lead early in the first quarter.

Early on, David Rybinski managed to pick up a fumble by the Bisons and score a 73 yard touchdown; this, despite Gilbert-Knorren making an incomplete pass and being chased out of bounds. Khaleal Williams had a slow start, with a few incomplete passes as well as a pass being knocked down by Bryce McCall. Also problematic were the number of penalty flags on play, including one for illegal participation by the Huskies, and there was nearly an infraction for the Bisons’ Richardson blocking Kolodzinski’s punt. Furthermore, we saw a penalty flag for Dempsky for unnecessary roughness.

By half-time, the score was a little more evened out (5:12). At this point, the Huskies’ Charlie Power was injured. The Bisons’ winning streak started to show, with Williams scoring a 15 yard touchdown, and the Huskies’ Peterson passing out of bounds. Anthony Coombs was injured, but the Bisons really showed their best when they scored a touchdown via a 66 yard punt. Later on, Nick Boyd scored a 42 yard field goal, and soon after that a 30 yard field goal. All this managed to push the Bisons into a victory of 26:16. That being said, the victory was anti-climactic; the score remained largely the same throughout the last ten minutes of the game, and by then it was clear who would win. Overall, though Williams was able to prove himself as a formidable QB, his flubs could have put the game at risk, and minimizing such problems could do wonders to help the team in the future. As For Knorren, he could have easily done better himself, getting a penalty flag for illegal participation, as well as a few out of bound passes. As a victory for the Bisons, however, it is still a victory, and still sweet as ever for their homecoming game.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
