Windsor community mourns DeNapoli’s passing

The Windsor community is saddened by the unexpected passing of John DeNapoli.

This past Monday, the 39 year old apparently was found dead at home after suffering from a cardiac arrest.

He played with the Holy Names Fighting Knights of the Windsor and Essex County Secondary School Athletic Association.  He moved on in the 1990’s to serve as a waterboy for the Windsor AKO Fratmen of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).  DeNapoli coached football and was also a chief organizer of the Windsor/ Essex  Sports Person of the Year (WESPY) Awards.

Most recently, DeNapoli  was the media liason for the Fratmen and was set to take on a new role with the team at the time of passing – director of player personnel.

He was a fixture in the Windsor sports scene and attended several Windsor Lancers games.

Funeral arrangements were not finalized at press time but it will be looked after by Families First Funeral Homes.  However, condolences can be expressed at  familiesfirst.ca.

CFC would like to express our condolences to DeNapoli’s wife Sonya, his three daughters and the rest of the family during this difficult time.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
