Levis-Lauzon Faucons wide receiver Gabriel Veilleux is continuing to contribute to a program with a winning pedigree.

Gabriel Veilleux brings with him a winning ambiance.
Veilleux began his football career at the age of 12 with the Pointe-Levy Consaires of RSEQ Division 1B. In his five seasons at Pointe-Levy, the team won three Bol D’Or titles and he made three RSEQ Division 1B All-Star teams. For his rookie CEGEP season, Veilleux committed to CEGEP de Levis-Lauzon to join the Faucons.
The CEGEP sophomore says the highlight of his freshman season was cracking the starting lineup.
“My first game as a starter because I almost scored my first touchdown on my 2nd reception.Ā I was really nervous before the game adjusting to a new caliber of play and playing against bigger guys,” he mentioned. “So when I caught my first pass it really gave me the confidence that I was able to play in this league.”
Veilleux credits his parents with having the greatest influence on his life, while he looks up to two of the NFL’s premier receivers.
“My parents are the most influential people in my life,” he said. “While in football, as a receiver, I like to watch Odell Beckham, Jr. and DeSean Jackson play. Their abilities to create space with the defender are simply amazing.”
Veilleux is still very early in the CIS recruitment process. Heading into his second season with the Faucons, he has yet to receive any serious consideration from CIS schools.
The 5’10 wideout employs a very busy training regimen, hitting the gym anywhere from four to five times a week with his Faucons teammates. To improve for 2016, he says he hopes to “work on my explosiveness and route-running.”
Veilleux is still not 100% decided on a career path, but preliminarily, he is hoping to work in the communications field,
