2026 CFC25 Tier II Rankings WEEK 3: West Kildonan join the top ten after big victory

TOP HEADLINES

• It was an interesting week throughout the Tier II world of Canadian high school football. We begin in Quebec where Roger-Comtois are still riding high coming off a 31-15 statement win against the defending champs Dalbé-Viau, who have now fallen to 1-3 on the year. It’s a rough patch you don’t expect to see from a program like Dalbé-Viau, but they can take some solace in knowing they’ve now played the three best teams in the division in a row, and have every bit of information they need about where they need to improve to flip their results later in the season when all the chips are in the middle of the table. On the other side, Roger-Comtois have reached the point where there’s no more questioning the team’s ceiling this season, but they’ll be put to the test this week when they take on Saint-Joseph, who also head into the contest at 4-0 with a share of the view at the top of the mountain.

• Heading to Saskatchewan, we’ve got a new entry in the top ten with Bishop J. Mahoney clinching a dominant 31-6 victory against Carlton in a cross-conference battle. The Saints are looking to bring the 5A title back to Saskatoon for the first time since 2022, but they’ll need to keep their head on a swivel with their local rivals Aden Bowman also joining the top 25 rankings after defeating F.W. Johnson, who just so happen to be the squad that knocked Bishop J. Mahoney out of the provincial playoffs last year en route to the 5A finals. We’re looking forward to seeing sparks fly when the Saints and Bears lineup between the white lines on October 1st.
• Elsewhere is Saskatchewan, Yorkton have made their presence known in the South Rural league with a massive 32-0 victory over Weyburn to improve their record to 2-1. Their lone loss came in a tough 38-0 shutout against the top ranked defending 5A champions Central, but there’s still plenty of time left in the season to build their confidence for a rematch down the road.

CFC100 CLASS 2027 RANKINGS

• Shifting our attention to Manitoba, we’ve got another newcomer in the top ten with West Kildonan capturing a key 15-6 victory against Springfield to improve their record to 3-0. It was a rematch with the same result from last year’s semifinals clash between these two squads, and we have a feeling it won’t be the last time they cross paths this season. We’re also keeping a close eye on Windsor Park, who are making their debut in the varsity division after starting their program from scratch last year at the junior varsity level. They’ve impressed so far sitting atop the standings with victories over Maples and Garden City, but we’ll have to wait and see how far they can ride their magic carpet this year.
• We finish off this week’s recap in British Columbia where College Heights have joined the rankings after a 26-24 win against Westsyde. It’s still early days with the regular season set to begin in two weeks, but it’s a great start to the campaign for the Cougars who will be looking to put Prince George on the map with a run in the AA playoffs this season.

• W.H. Croxford has been classified as a 6A school in Alberta so they will now only be eligible to compete for a spot on the CFC50 High School Rankings.
