2026 CFC25 Tier II Rankings WEEK 4: Massive top 10 renovation required

TOP HEADLINES

• This one came outta nowhere. If you’ve been following these rankings since their inception, then you know Holy Rosary are always going to be near the top of the list despite their 3A classification in Alberta after winning four straight provincial titles. You’d also know that Holy Trinity Academy have won the CFC25 Rankings National Title on three occasions and have appeared in five of the last six 4A provincial finals. In other words, these are two of the best run programs in the entire country no matter the classifications. With that context in mind, we don’t think anyone would’ve predicted Holy Rosary laying the boots to Holy Trinity Academy in a 51-7 shellacking. Is it strange that technically a Tier III program is now ranked second on our Tier II rankings? On the surface absolutely, but make no mistake the Raiders have earned their spot after defeating five programs from 5A and 4A in non-league action to start the season, which has become the norm in recent years. On the other side, there will be no time for Holy Trinity Academy to lick their wounds as they prepare for another tough test against CFC50 ranked Lethbridge C.I.. It’s going to be a tall order, but a win against the Rams would be a huge confidence boost to get their season back on the rails.

• Up. Down. Up. It’s been a riddle wrapped it an enigma trying to figure out where Bev Facey fits into the 4A puzzle early in the campaign, but they made life a lot easier this week with a dominant 35-13 victory over the defending 4A provincial champions Austin O’Brien. In hindsight we were probably too harsh on the Falcons after back-to-back blowout losses to CFC50 top ten ranked Harry Ainlay and Salisbury, but we are never mad when a program proves us wrong. Right now the race for the 4A title is wide open, and there’s no reason why it can’t be Bev Facey who crosses the finish line first in November.
• Following the theme of the week, we had another shocking result out of Quebec where Saint-Joseph claimed sole possession of first place in Juvenile DII with an emphatic 27-0 shutout against previously undefeated Roger-Comtois. Based off past results so far this season you’d think the Patriotes would’ve put up a better fight, but the Vert et Or continue to put together a dominant campaign outscoring their first five opponents 112-35.

CFC100 CLASS 2027 RANKINGS

• Sticking in Quebec, last year’s number one ranked team on the CFC25 Rankings has officially fallen off the list after Triolet secured a clutch 28-27 victory over Dalbé-Viau. We still think they have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs if they can capitalize on what on paper appears to be an easier back half of the schedule, but for now they are left on the outside looking in with a huge mountain to climb if they want to retain their title. On the other side, Triolet are looking like a great dark horse pick to make a deep run, and they have a couple opportunities in front of them to shake up the standings before playoff time with matchups against Saint-Joseph and Roger-Comtois still left on the docket.
• We finish off this week in British Columbia where the defending AA champions Vernon hit a slight bump in the road with a 29-18 loss to St. Thomas More. Keeping in mind this is still exhibition and only their second game of the year against a AAA opponent, we don’t feel like it’s a true indicator of their season outlook, but for now they take a slight tumble in the rankings before kicking off their regular season campaign against Salmon Arm this week.
