2026 CFC25 Tier II Rankings WEEK 6: Westsyde shock the reigning champs in British Columbia

TOP HEADLINES

• We start a wild week of action in British Columbia where we’ve got a new top ranked team after Westsyde shocked the defending AA champions Vernon in a convincing 31-13 victory. The win catapults Westsyde into the top ten, but it’s still early days with plenty of games left to be played on the West Coast, and right now the picture is still coming in a little fuzzy about who the top programs will be at the end of the season. We also saw John Barsby outlast Argyle for an 18-14 victory, and formerly ranked Ballenas fell 22-16 to Mount Douglas. You throw College Heights making noise in Prince George into the mix, who just so happened to beat Westsyde a couple weeks ago in exhibition play, and you get the feeling that it’s going to be a roller coaster ride following the AA conference this season.

• Who is the top team in the Saskatchewan South Rural League heading into the playoffs? You might need to hire the top scientists in the nation to figure that one out right now. We had Central comfortably ranked as the top team on the CFC25 until the past two weeks where they lost back-to-back against Greenall and Swift Current to close out the regular season as the fourth seed at 4-2. With the 44-30 victory over the defending champs, Swift Current has locked down the second seed behind Yorkton, who earned top honours thanks to their 31-14 win over the Colts earlier in the year with their only blemish being a 38-0 blowout loss at the hands of Central. In the middle of all this madness you’ve got Greenall slotting in as the third seed, and now there’s no margin for error between these four programs with the playoffs set to begin this week. Who’s the favourite? Who knows right now, and even if that makes our lives a lot harder in the rankings business, we wouldn’t want to have it any other way.

CFC100 CLASS 2027 RANKINGS

• We finish up our recap this week in Quebec, where Collège Jean-Eudes continue to slowly creep up the rankings after an 0-2 start to the campaign. Since then they’ve rattled off three wins in four games, including their latest 28-14 victory over Roger-Comtois. They now have a chance to climb the DII Juvenile standings with a key matchup against Estacades, who enter this week in a logjam at 4-2 tied with Triolet and Roger-Comtois. The team who can really shake up the seeding heading into the playoffs will be Triolet, who have fallen just outside the rankings this week, but they have the chance to make some big moves with their three remaining games against Roger-Comtois, Saint-Joseph and Estacades.
