4 Stampeder victories

The Burlington Stampeder Pee Wees played the Branford Bisons on Sunday June 16th at Nelson field in Burlington. The Stampeders won the game 51 to 30 to improve to a 4 and 0 record this season.

The offence was led by Zachary Ihasz and Josh Munoz who score three touchdowns each. Sito Berrio contributed with another TD. Matthew Morreale was successful in kicking three convert kicks after the touchdowns.

Burlington’s defence was solid. Justic Gec, Malik Boult, Jack Taylor, Nicholas Gilbert, Matthew Chiasson, Sean Stolduski and Quentin Reid contributed with solid tackles and pass knock downs.

The Stampeders will have a rematch with the Bisons this Saturday in Brantford.

Bantam

The bantam Burlington Stampeders remained unbeaten, moving to 4 – 0 by defeating the Forest City Thunderbirds by a score of 51 – 0 in OFC play. The Stamps defense again held the opposition off of the scoreboard and forcedΒ  6 turnovers including 4 interceptions. Isiah Reid and Myles Manalo led the defense with 6 and 5 tackles, respectively, with Manalo also making two interceptions. Matt Paul had 4.5 tackles and an interception.

On offense the Stampeders continued to spread the ball around. Matt Paul ran for 149 yards and a touchdown while Myles Manalo had two rushing TDs and Jaden Bailey added one. Kurtis Rourke completed 10 of 13 pass attempts for 117 yards and three touchdowns. Michael LehmannΒ  caught two TD passes and Noah Griffin caught one.β€œ

Junior Varsity

The Junior Varsity Stampeders had another impressive performance, beating the Forest City Thunderbirds 86 – 7 in London on Saturday.Β  The Stamps generated 707 yards of offense with 3 passing touchdowns by Nigel Goodridge and 2 running TDs by Dante Reid.

The defense, led by tackles from Tyler O’Hagan, Jack Miller and Josh Sloan also came up big, sacking the Thunderbirds QB 4 times and scoring on a fumble caused by a hit from O’Hagan.

Varsity

The Varsity Stamps shut out the Thunderbirds 24 -0 with a strong defensive effort, causing two safeties and only allowing the London team across center field four times the entire game.Β  On offense, Jordan Lyons and Jude Armson both scored majors with Gabriel Ferraro contributed two field goals.
