Adrian of all traits

Coaches only dream of being able to have the type of player that they can bounce all over the field, use in difference scenarios and even move them from offense to defense. For Cambridge Lions Bantam Head Coach, Kevin Delaney, this is a reality.

Regularly a full back, Adrian Turner has proven to be capable of pounding the ball up the middle but Kevin Delaney has found that Turner is more than capable at the linebacker position also.

At full back, Turner has been a reliable option in certain scenarios, carrying the ball 24 times, through the season’s first four weeks, for one touchdown, while averaging 3.8 yards per carry.

When being used in the linebacker position, not only does Turner’s production not decrease, but he has shown to be a vital piece of that defense. Through four weeks of this season, Turner has recorded nine solo tackles, 14 assisted tackles, while forcing two fumbles.

Being able to use players on both sides of the ball is a luxury Head Coach, Delaney does not take for granted. Rightfully so, following a Week 4 victory over the Niagara Spears, when Turner really stepped up his game to help out the defense.

In the victory, Turner recorded six assisted tackles and three solo tackles, while forcing a fumble.

It has been a pleasant surprise this season for Coach Delaney and he will continue to use Turner anywhere he can, as long as he keeps producing the way he is.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
