OVFL: Varsity Myers Riders annihilate Wildcats

Riding an all-round team effort the Myers Riders dominated in their opening weekend game.

Coach Max Palladino was happy with the effort. Β “Our defence and offence was strong, however our special teams could use some work”. Β Two turnovers on kick off returns and a few bad penalties were some of the mistakes the coach was eluding too.

Early game first quarter star performers for the Riders included the running of Kory Morgan & pass receiving of Parker Bolton. Β Before one could get comfortable in their seats the home team had taken a 24 to 0 lead and proved that the old Minto turf was still good for something

The Riders continued to score and play great defensive game, hardly allowing the Wildcats any success on offense. Β  Morgan scored again to make it 33 to 0. Β Connor Ayre had a strong game kicking the ball, perfect on PATs and field goals. Β Jonathon Cimankinda finished the game with over 100 yards rushing. Β The 54 to 0 victory will be the first of many for the Riders.
