Bisons announce 2015 coaches

Plans for the Brantford Bisons 2015 Ontario Football Conference regular season are beginning to take shape with the announcement of  the head coaches for the varsity, junior varsity and bantam teams. In 2014 the Bisons were one of only three centres in the league to have all their teams make the playoffs.

Kelly Ireland Head Coach2

Varsity:

Head Coach: Kelly Ireland

2014 Record: 7-1

Kelly Ireland enters his second year as head coach for the varsity team in 2015 with his entire coaching staff intact. Ireland led the varsity team to a 7-1 record in 2014 and had the team play in the conference final. With only seven players leaving the team due to age and new players from the junior varsity team moving up, 2015 looks to be a very promising year. “The coaching staff is intact from last year so the team is ready to go. Since we had a very young team last year, the experience the players gained should relate to a very competitive team in 2015.” said Ireland.

Brad Spencer

Junior Varsity:

Head Coach: Brad Spencer

2014 Record: 6-2

Brad Spencer, the 2014 Ontario Minor Coach Of The Year, led the junior varsity team to the best record it has achieved in many years, going 6-2 in the regular season. Similar to the varsity team, the core of the junior varsity players should be returning supplemented by a good contingent of bantam players moving up to the next level of play.

Bantam:

Head Coach: Geno Geneau

2014 Record: 5-3

Geno Geneau takes over the bantam team after many years as a head coach in the Bisons fall season. Geneau has coached at every level in the fall season and is ready to take over the bantam team that prepares the players for high school football in the fall.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
