Summer football has been a staple in Ontario since 1993.
That year, the now-dormant Great Lakes Football League (GLFL) was formed with three teams: the Huronia Stallions (who won the inaugural league title), the Mississauga Warriors β who the Stallions beat in the final β and the Oshawa Hawkeyes. Since its humble beginnings, rep football in the province has ballooned, with over 60 associations actively providing summer football for local talent.
The simple question I have β the title of this piece being apropos, if nothing else β is: why only Ontario?
