Week 1 of CAMFA began with a bang as the Hilltoppers, Mavericks, Wildcats and Lions pulled off lopsided wins.
Here is the complete recap of week 1 action of CAMFA play:
BRONCOS 8 – 48 HILLTOPPERS:
Broncos: A rough night which saw both Nick Bladen (Shoulder) and Julien Barnett go down with injuries taking away two of the Broncos best weapons
Broncos: The Broncos O were able to move the ball however lacked that scoring touch at the end of drives
Broncos: Daniel Adesegun scored 1 Rushing TD
Broncos: Julien Barnett scored 1 2pt Conversion off the fumbled extra point snap
Broncos: Reese Samson and Brady McCarfferty had solid games on D each racking up a few big hits
Hilltoppers: Tyler Chow looked strong in the season opener Rushing for 3 TDs
Hilltoppers: Matthew Fortini looked solid in his debut with 2 Passing TDs
Hilltoppers: Gabriel Charrois and Clay Flack caught the ball well and each scored 1 Receiving TD
Hilltoppers: Colton Burr came up big on D with a pick 6 TD
Hilltoppers: Lead by Silvio Galo, the OL exceeded expectations while the new offensive system put in by OC Derek Cooper was running smoothly
Hilltoppers: Neil Dada stepped in at D Tackle for an injured Tristan Terry and shut down the Broncos run game
RAIDERS 12 – 42 MAVERICKS:
Raiders: Sam Heini made some big catches displaying some solid hands and scored 1 Rushing TD
Raiders: Jordan Baldwin started his Midget career right where he left off in Bantam scoring a long 60 yard Rushing TD late
Raiders: Brian Moran had a strong game with 1 sack
Raiders: Deion Holder played well in the secondary
Raiders: Colton Church stepped in well at MAC making some nice tackles
Mavericks: Colton Hunchak opened the season on fire tossing 3 TDs and gaining nice yards on the ground
Mavericks: Xavier Ramsey looked good in his Mavs debut scoring 1 Receiving TD
Mavericks: Abdulla Mela busted a huge 60 yard run up the middle to score 1 Rushing TD
Mavericks: Jon Girma caught the ball well scoring 1 Receiving TD
Mavericks: Conner Rasch scored 1 Receiving TD
Mavericks: Kaedon Armstrong ran well all evening Rushing for 1 TD while also kicking 2 Field Goals and 1 Rouge
Mavericks: Nick Statz was all over the place in the secondary snagging 1 INT
Mavericks: Gaylen Beerbaum played well with 1 INT
Mavericks: Conrad David and Patrick Apuzzo were excellent against the run
Mavericks: Braden Dorren consistently created pressure in the backfield
FALCONS 24 – 47 WILDCATS:
Falcons: Noah Muruve was excellent Rushing for 3 TDs including a 70 yarder
Falcons: Alex Basilis had a decent game but the passing game appeared slightly out of sync in the opener
Falcons: Aaron Gruending made some big catches whle Riley Terriff had a nice game catching the ball as well
Falcons: Elliott Kenny and Eric Britton played well on D racking up several tackles
Wildcats: Ben Kopczynski was excellent in his season debut Passing for 3 TDs and scoring 1 Rushing TD
Wildcats: Joel Johnson looked solid scoring 1 Receiving TD
Wildcats: Louis Johnson scored 1 Receiving TD
Wildcats: Jesse Williams was everywhere racking up 200 All purpose yards with 2 Rushing TDs and 1 KOR TD
Wildcats: Micah Teitz and Miguel Blacutt were beasts in the middled controlling the inside run game
Wildcats: Miguel Blacutt recorded 1 Sack
Wildcats: Dils Bahia and Ethan Tiemstra held the passing game in check with solid pass coverage all night
BULLDOGS 50 – 7 LIONS:
Bulldogs: Josh Quarles looked fast scoring 2 Rushing TDs
Bulldogs: Rookie Robert Stewart had a great first midget game scoring 2 Rushing TDs
Bulldogs: Truman Wilson played very well at QB scoring 1 Rushing TD and tossing 2 TDs
Bulldogs: Troy Mcgee scored 1 Receiving TD
Bulldogs: Braiden Merk played well with 1 Receving TD
Lions: Des Catellier had a nice first midget game with 1 Passing TD
Lions: Sidney Bergland had a strong showing with 1 Receiving TD
Lions: Mike Quillian and Kole Martin played well on Defense
STAMPEDERS 7-14 COLTS:
Stampeders: Dalton Winkworth accounted for the Stamps scoring with an INT returned for a TD
Stampeders: The offense looked out of sync all game and an injury to starting QB Spencer Kiranas didnt help
Stampeders: James Gaetz lead the D in tackles while also notching a few Sacks
Stampeders: George Saloum was consistently in the Colts backfield reaking havoc
Colts: Dallas Boath was the difference in this game scoring 2 long Receiving TDs
Colts: Ryan Karl tossed 1 Passing TD
Colts: Hunter Guenard also received time in this two day affair and took advantage with 1 Passing TD
Colts: Zach Warnock was lockdown in the secondary with 1 INT
FIRE 7-35 COWBOYS:
Fire: Rookie QB Brett Barret played wel in his first start
Fire: Ashton Hall was able to make plays both on the ground and in the receiving game
Fire: Zach Hazen scored on a 3 yard pass from Jarret Burzuk
Fire: LB Connor Brace made some big plays on defence
Fire: Quade Smith had a an int that lead to the Fire’s TD
Cowboys: Spencer Mahura looked like an elite accumulating big yards on the ground and 3 Passing TDs
Cowboys: Brett Ellerman had a huge game with 2 Receiving TDs
Cowboys: Jesse Halvorson scored a 45 yard Receiving TD
Cowboys: Franco Poon scored 1 Rushing TD from the 1 yard line
Cowboys: Zach Urquart was terrific on D taking a Fumble Recovery and returning it for a TD to go along with 2 Sacks
Cowboys: Scott van Der Baaren had 1 Fumble Recovery
Cowboys: Carlo Galotta lead the D and Special Teams unit in Tackles
Cowboys: The Oline looked dominant
