CFC OVFL Game of the Week Preview: “Bragging rights are definitely on the line”

The varsity Ottawa Myers Riders and the Cumberland Panthers will continue their heated rivalry this weekend and bragging rights are on the line.

“Both teams get prepared for these games,” said Myers Riders varsity Head Coach Max Palladino.  “The players know each other from NCAFA (National Capital Amateur Football Association) as well.”

“So bragging rights are definitely on the line.”

The varsity Myers Riders are having another outstanding season. They are undefeated at 6-0 and will face a hungry Cumberland Panthers team (3-3).

Myers’ Matt Duffy has not missed a step as the new quarterback with 1855 passing yards and 20 passing touchdowns.

Receiver Jaegar Prot has been explosive with 607 yards receiving and 10 touchdown receptions.

On defense, Brad Herbst has been a key leader for the team.

Myers has 16 interceptions on the season, which is close to a league record. They have been outstanding in all aspects of the game.

“Whether it’s special teams, offense or defense, we are playing as one,” said Palladino.  “We’re all working towards one goal to repeat that Championship.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
