The varsity Cambridge Lionsβ winning streak continues to 3-0.
The teamβs dominant 49-7 victory over the Halton Cowboys last week was even more impressive when coach Anthony Maggiacomo mentioned the team’s circumstances.
βEveryone got to play,” explained Maggiacomo. Β “We found a way to win despite missing many players.”
This week, the Lions prepare for their toughest match yet, as they will host the Niagara Spears in a battle for top spot in the Adam Conference.
Maggiacomo says his team is looking forward to the competition.
βWe are excited for the challenge,” added Maggiacomo. Β “We expect the game to be close, the team who limits mistakes and executes best will have the best opportunity to win,β.
Maggiacomo emphasized one change needed to ensure a Lions’ victory.
βWe are still taking too many penalties,” explained Maggiacomo. Β “If we want to keep winning, they need to be limited,β.
Kickoff between the Cambridge Lions and Niagara Spears is Saturday, under the lights at Jacob Hespeler Secondary School at 8:00pm.
